Pilsener beers have a pale gold colour an ABV between 4.4% and 5.2% and a high bitterness.
Pilsener is a quite broad category, they are hoppy and pale lagers with some malt character and aromatic hops. Taste is bitter and have some sweetness from the supporting malt. Finish can be sweet or hoppy.
Pilsener style has its origin in 1839, when the citizens of Plzeň (Czech Republic) built a brewery called Burger Brauerei—the citizens brewery—in order to brew beer according to the Bavarian bottom-fermenting style.
