Abt 12 tasting notes
Abt. 12 is an abbey ale brewed at St. Bernardus brewery in the classic Belgian “Quadrupel” style. This recipe was created when trappist monks of Westvleteren had to outsource some of its production here. Pours dark brown with a frothy, light tan head and a bit of lacing. Fruity aroma of dark fruits, caramel and cherry notes, with hints of yeast. The taste is deep and complex, with more dark fruit, notes of yeast and malt in the background. Full body and mild alcohol burn, with a delightful aftertaste with roasted caramel malt bouquet. One of the best examples of Belgian Quadrupel.
